Stuck In The Middle With You

"I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair, and I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs, clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am stuck in the middle with you!"

Mindless Examination Musings

It is exam time again. Apparently, you can be under severe stress if you are stress because you aren’t stress about exams. Funny, that.

Anyway,

Disneyland is coming to Malaysia! Or Johor to be precise. I can almost picture it now… Minnie Mouse in tudung (round ears are sexy this season), a mandatory sarong for Donald Duck (exhibitionists are a no-no in Malaysia) and Mickey Mouse speaking Malay.
Oh, and Goofy needs a dog license from MPJB plus at least 3,000 square feet of running space if Pluto shares the same living area.

And World Cup is just around the corner! And right in the smack of nearly every major examination in the world. Brilliant timing!
No, I am not a football fan but I do like the feeling of festivities! Any reason for a party is a good reason. The exams are sort of a letdown. I’ve even heard that some universities are postponing their exams for the World Cup. How cool is that? Monash isn’t that cool unfortunately. :(

Hmmm… speaking of exams and stress, it reminded me of a conversation I had with some old DJ seniors.

Me: Hi, me Vincent.
DJ Senior: Hi, me *some-name*.
Me: You from DJ?
DJ Senior: Yeah, you from DJ too, right? Prefect? Haha the one who always got a stressed look waaaan!
Me: …

Oh well, just musing about stuff. Back to the books! Applied Macro/Microeconomics on Monday! I will now attempt to conquer my phobia on economics paper once and for all! Yeaaaaaaaaa!

Ooo.. 6.45pm! Nap time!

PS: Good luck to all who are having their examination, whether Monash here or Monash abroad.

A Down Under Day Out with Adrian

While harassing the local fauna, the Kokster decided to flaunt his verbal superiority for all to see!

It is a wonder why Australia has such strict immigration policies. :)

"You didn't beat me. You ignored the rules of engagement. In a fair fight, I'd kill you."
"That's not much incentive for me to fight fair, then, is it?"

"A" is for Amok!

It is true that our national language has borrowed whole chunks of words and phrases from many different tongues around the world. English, Portuguese and Chinese to name a few.

But I’ve recently discovered from my assignment-procrastinating voyages inside the huge archives of Wikipedia that there is in fact one original word our humble country has contributed to the English language!

The word: AMOK!

No, not the heavy-metal band.

Here, check it out!

Well, yeah I’ll admit it’s a little unflattering on the reason WHY the word came about in the first place. But common! It’s still a Malaysian original word, right?

Where The ******* Hell Are You?

A spoof on Australia’s “Where The Bloody Hell Are You?” tourism campaign.
The original version was actually banned in the UK where they deemed ‘bloody hell' as vulgar.

An irony, no?

Redlining One's Self

I’m back from the dead! Woohoo, assignment mania!

You know, I’ve always treated any literature work I ever had as an assignment. Yes, even this blog! I am using Word now to type this. And the shitty part? I even procrastinate doing my blog like I do with my assignments! LOL!

It’s kinda funny when Dave asked me:
”When are you going to update your blog?”

And I say:
”Doing now.”

And the post only comes up the next day in the middle of the afternoon.

Based on the length, some people even theorized that I actually prepare 3-4 articles in advance and save them for later! Hahahah, like a magazine!

So anyway, there was this one time somewhere last week when I decided to see how far my body could go. After a major assignment (after 2 sleepless nights), against the protest of my tiredness, I went for my Jujitsu class. Fell asleep inside my car after I parked for almost a solid hour. Woke up just in time for the weekly festivities… Sparing!

After getting my butt kicked (I’ve experienced first hand the “Nelson-lock”. It really… stretches you. Really…) I have gotten a call. It was DOTA time!

So with no dinner (no lunch either!) I went to old ESC down as SS2 at around 8.30pm and played until… about 3.40am! Hoooo ahh!

Ate my dinner/lunch around 4am. Indo mee double, boss!

And that is how you redline youself.
